Microbiome consultation.

DNA-based gut microbiome testing with strain-level resolution and an evidence-graded report — and, most importantly, an in-person expert discussion of what the numbers mean in your case.

Launching soon. Microbiome consultation is currently available as a preview service. We already welcome enquiries — write or call us and we will let you know as soon as testing starts.

Who is it for?

  • Persistent digestive complaints that conventional tests do not explain
  • Assessing the gut flora after antibiotic treatment or an intestinal infection
  • Before and after microbiota transfer therapy (MTT/FMT), to follow the change
  • Anyone who wants a well-founded, referenced picture of their own gut flora
  • Treating physicians looking for complementary information for clinical decisions

What the report contains

The report is a document of up to 15 pages in which every health statement is accompanied by the strength of the scientific evidence behind it and the publication it is based on.

Diversity

Sample quality and gut flora diversity

Shannon and Simpson indices, Pielou evenness and effective number of genera — with plain-language explanations of what each measure says, and what it does not.

Composition

Composition of the gut flora

The community at phylum, genus and species level, with the 25 most abundant bacterial species — at strain-level resolution.

Function

Functional signals

Only findings with strong or moderate evidence — such as the share of butyrate producers, Akkermansia muciniphila or Enterobacteriaceae — each with a PubMed reference.

Safety

Bacteria regarded as pathogens

A separate table with the measurement reliability marked. Detection alone does not mean infection — its significance is for the treating physician to judge.

How it works

  • Booking — we agree the details by phone or email.
  • Sampling — the test requires a stool sample; we explain sampling and drop-off when you book.
  • Measurement — the DNA in the sample is analysed by DynaMAP™ optical genome mapping in collaboration with MicroBiome Bank. The method is not sequencing: DNA strands are fluorescently labelled, imaged optically and matched to reference genomes, which distinguishes bacteria at strain level.
  • Report — the evidence-graded report is prepared.
  • In-person discussion — Dr. Attila Bezzegh interprets the report in the light of your complaints, medical history and other test results, on Monday afternoons at the Pannónia utca consulting office.

Important to know

The report is not a diagnostic document: according to the manufacturer’s documentation, the DynaMAP™ method is for research use. Detecting a bacterium does not in itself mean infection or disease, and the report does not replace clinical examination. That is why we offer the test together with an expert consultation, never on its own — please do not start any medication, supplement or major dietary change on the basis of the report alone.
